First Line Behavioral Wellness
Supporting those who serve—when they need it most.
Care Built for Those Who Answer the Call
Fishing for the Mission 22 is committed to improving the health and well-being of veterans, active-duty military personnel, and first responders.
Through our First Line Behavioral Wellness Program, we are expanding access to high-quality, confidential behavioral health services for the men and women whose service to our country and communities can expose them to extraordinary levels of stress, trauma, and emotional strain.
The program brings professional care, peer connection, and community support together in one accessible initiative—helping participants find the right support without facing the usual financial and administrative barriers.
The Weight of Service Should Never Be Carried Alone
Veterans, military personnel, police officers, firefighters, emergency medical professionals, and other first responders routinely encounter circumstances that most people will never experience. Repeated exposure to traumatic events, life-threatening situations, human suffering, occupational stress, and the demands of military and public-safety service can contribute to depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, substance misuse, relationship difficulties, and increased risk for suicide.
Obtaining appropriate care can also be difficult. Provider shortages, lengthy wait times, cost, insurance limitations, confidentiality concerns, stigma, and fear of career consequences can discourage people from seeking help—especially in areas of Massachusetts where specialized providers may be limited.

Through grant-supported funding and community support, eligible veterans, active-duty military personnel, and first responders can access behavioral health services at no cost to the participant.

Building Resilience & Connection
The First Line Behavioral Wellness Program is intended not only to respond when someone is experiencing difficulty, but also to strengthen resilience before challenges become crises.
By combining professional services, peer connection, and the supportive community that defines Fishing for the Mission 22, we seek to provide practical tools for managing stress, improving emotional well-being, strengthening relationships, and maintaining healthier and more fulfilling lives.
Seeking support is a sign of strength and readiness—not weakness.

A Sustainable Network of Support
Fishing for the Mission 22 was founded on a simple principle: the people who have dedicated themselves to protecting our country and our communities should never have to face life’s most difficult challenges alone.
The First Line Behavioral Wellness Program represents an important expansion of that mission. By combining behavioral health services with peer support, community connection, and our commitment to veterans, military members, and first responders, we are working to create a sustainable network of support throughout Massachusetts.
Stand Behind Those Who Stand for Us
Grant funding and community support make it possible to provide these services without placing the financial burden on the people seeking help. Every partnership, contribution, sponsorship, and referral expands our ability to reach veterans, military personnel, and first responders who might otherwise go without the support they need.
Together, we can ensure that those who have spent their lives serving others have somewhere to turn when they need someone to serve them.
